雪解け
このところお天気がジェットコースターのように変わります。２日前にはけっこう雪が降ったのに、今日はまた好天気。暖かくて気持ちの良い日曜日でした。
家の周りの雪もずいぶんと溶けてきました。前の方（東側）はほとんど消え、土や芝生が見えてきました。ここ数か月、お日様にあたることなく、重い雪の下にいたんだと思うと、いとおしくなります。よく耐えていましたね。
家の奥の方（西側）はまだ１メートル以上積もっています。降った雪の他に雪下ろしの雪も加わっているので、よけいボリュームがあります。日の当たり方も少ないので、なかなか溶けてきません。
今日は庭の真ん中に溝を掘りました。歩いてわたれるようにしたのですが、こうすることで雪山の表面積が大きくなり、雪の中心部にも風が抜けていくようになるので、きっと早く溶けてくれることでしょう。桜も咲く頃までには、庭が見えるようになるかな。
上を見上げると、屋根にはもう雪はなく、黒々としています。労力をかけて（プロに頼んだのでお金もかけて）雪を下ろしたのが、何だかもったいなかったような気にもなりました。ちょっとケチくさいかな。
屋根を暖めているだけではもったいないので、もう一度地上の雪をあげれば、すぐに溶けるでしょうね。でも、そんなことをしている人をみたことがありません。わざわざ労力（とお金）をかけるまでもなく、時期がくれば雪は溶けてくれます。
でも、雪が溶けずにそのまま夏までもってくれれば、また利用価値はありそうです。暑い季節のクーラーに使えるかもしれませんし、食品などの貯蔵にももってこいかも。昔はほんとうに「雪蔵（ゆきぐら）」があって、夏に利用したという話を聞いたことがあります（お金持ちの家だけでしょうが）。現在はさらに有効に利用しようと、いろんな工夫や努力をしているとか。
豪雪地帯の新潟が、雪に負けないように、むしろ雪を活かせるようにする・・。以前は「克雪」と言っていましたが、今はさらに進んで「利雪」と言っているのだそうです。人間と自然との知恵比べなんですね。
