早朝のお客さん

　昨日からの強い風に加えて、今日は雨。満開の桜も“外圧”には抗しきれず、少しずつ散り始めてしまいました。

　開花から１週間ほどがたっています。あと数日で葉桜になってしまうことでしょう。次の週末はかろうじて大丈夫のようですね。観桜会は予定より１週間延長されていますので、最後のお花見にどうぞいらっしゃって下さい。

　このところ朝の目覚めが早くなりました。家の前に咲く桜の花が気になるからでもありません。犬との散歩が楽しみだからでもありません。カラスがいけないのです。

　上越市は全国で最もカラスの多いところだと聞いたことがあります。上越教育大学のある小高い丘がカラスのねぐらになっています。昼間は各地に“出張”しているカラスたちが、夜は大学周辺の雑木林に帰ってきます。

　観桜会の期間中は、カラスにとっては最高の時。美味しいエサにたっぷりとありつけます。まだ夜が明けないうちから公園にやってきて、捨てられているゴミ袋などを突っついています。ゴミを集めるステーションは絶好のエサ場。そして、散歩コースのあちこちに投げ捨てられたゴミをしっかりと見つけて、散らかしていきます。

　我が家の屋根にも毎朝カラスが飛んできます。数羽が追いかけっこをしているのか、バタバタ、ガチャガチャ・・　まだ寝ている私たちの頭の上で騒がしい限りです。

　カラスは「遊ぶ」ということができるようです。以前見たニュースで、滑り台で滑って遊ぶカラスがいました。屋根の上で何をしているのか分かりませんが、彼ら（彼女ら？）はきっと楽しんで遊んでいるのでしょうね。

　そんなところをじゃましてはいけないのかもしれませんが、でも人間にとっては迷惑千万。困ったものです。

　・・もっとも、カラスのエサが毎日大量にでる方が困ったことかもしれません。お花見を楽しんでもらうのはいいのですが、美しい桜を見ながら、公園を汚くするのはやめてもらいたいものです。
