思わず赤面
子どもたちはときどき面白いことを言います。今日の外来中のこと、２歳くらいの女の子が私に向かって「パパ！」 お母さんは「違うでしょ、先生だよ」と言うと、「せんせ」って言い直しましたが。
「パパ！」の声がしたとき、診察室の時間が一瞬止まったのを感じました。それとも空気が凍ったというべきか・・。そして私の顔が赤くなったことに、気づいた人もいたことでしょう。身に覚えのないこと（！）ではありますが、ちょっと考えてしまったりして(T_T)
でも、せっかくの美味しい話をそのままにはしておけません。女の子に「そとではパパって呼んじゃダメって言ったでしょ」と言ってあげました。この子は点滴になったのですが、職員には「オレの娘だからね！」とも。職員にはけっこうウケていたようです（私がかってにそう思っているだけかも）。
念のために言っておきますが、以上の話は冗談です。まじめな職員や、事情の分からない周りの親御さんは、誤解していないでしょうね。ちょっと心配になってきました・・
昔聞いた実話です。先輩の医者が若い頃、とても勤務が忙しくて家でゆっくりできないような生活をしていたそうです。子どもができても、一緒にいる時間が少なく、すれ違いの日々。月曜の朝、バス停まで着いてきた子どもが「また来てね！」と言ったとか。多くの人のいる前で言われたので、穴があったら入りたい気持ちになったということです。同情申し上げます。
子どもの思いがけない一言が、その場の雰囲気をがらっと変えることがあるものですね・・良い方にも、悪い方にも(^^)
