ＨＰの訂正
昨夜、あるお読者の方から次のような指摘をいただきました。
「先日、おたふくかぜの予防接種を受け、翌日から接種部位周辺が直径４cm程赤く腫れました。こちらのＨＰを閲覧させていただいたところ、”注射したところが赤くなったり、はれたりすることは、ありません。”とありました。しかし、かかりつけの小児科で診察を受けたところ、まれではあるが、こういった副反応が起こる事があると説明を受けました。ワクチンの説明書も見せていただき、そこにもきちんと明記されていました。混乱を招く上記の記載は、削除、または、変更されたほうがいいかと思います。娘が大変な事態になっているのかと非常に心配しました。」
それに対しての私の返答です。
「ワクチンの中では『不活化ワクチン』は、接種部位が腫れやすい性質をもっています。それに対して、『生ワクチン』はそれほど腫れが問題になることはありません。確かに『絶対にない』とは言えませんが、ご指摘のように「まれな副反応」とされているものです。また、ワクチンの成分に対する反応で腫れる以外に、消毒に対する反応や、接種後に強く揉むことで腫れてくることなどもあります。
いずれにせよ、ＨＰ内の記述は一般的なものを書いていますので、すべてのことを網羅して書いてはいません。個々のお子さんのことについては、今回のように主治医の先生によく診てもらうことが大切です。
当方のＨＰの記述が原因で無用な心配をおかけしたとのことですが、今後は以上のことも考慮していただきながら、参考にしていただければ幸いです。」
ＨＰ中の記述が不正確だというご指摘です。
返事の中にも書きましたが、すべてのことを網羅して記述することは不可能です。
小児科学の知識を完全に提供すべきだとしたら、小児科の分厚い教科書をそのまま使ってもまだ足りないでしょう。
このＨＰは、一般の方に分かりやすく小児科の情報を提供するようにしていますので、ある程度はものごとを単純化したり、省略したりしながら記述しています。
それがこのＨＰの特徴です。
しかし、正確さも必要です。
そのあたりのかねあいは、実際にはむずかしいですね。
原則や基本をＨＰから知っていただき、個別のことはそれらをもとに考え、判断してほしいと思います。
とはいえ、“間違い”を指摘されていますので、さっそく対応いたしました。
「赤くなったり、はれたりすることは、ありません」→「赤くなったり、はれたりすることはほとんどありません」
（注射による生ワクチンであるはしか、風疹、おたふくかぜ、水ぼうそう）
これもなんだかいやらしい表現です。
無用の誤解を生まないように、というよりも、へんに突っ込まれないようにしているだけのよう。
役人のような文章。
私が好まない表現になってしまいました。
・・まあ、それも仕方ないのでしょうね。
